I love unicorns, like so much. I don’t have my bedroom painted in rainbows with frolicking unicorns or carry around a unicorn themed handbag (though I’m certainly not against either) but back my younger years with my abject love of all things “Rainbow Brite” (I know Starlight wasn’t a Unicorn, just a fantastic horse… that had rainbow hair and could run across rainbows and was certainly at least a cousin of Unicorns?) and “My Little Pony” and in my later elementary years falling head over heels in love with Bruce Coville’s “Unicorn Chronicles” suffice it to say that Unicorns hold a soft spot in my heart, and even as an adult and I find them magical and fun in the best kind of ways.
To that end, I’m working on my favorite children’s book in the yet in the “For A Day” book series, “Unicorn For A Day” and because Unicorns make me so happy I want to share them far a wide. In my mind, Unicorns make everything better, so I thought I’d tied them into something that is classically fairly boring, like Letter Tracing Worksheets. But what’s better than tracing the same letter over and over again as you work on fine motor control and pencil grip? Doing it with a Unicorn!
I’ve also created a bunch of fun, free resources for parents, teachers and care givers that are all things Unicorn. If you want to check out my companion book “Unicorn For a Day” at some point I’d certainly be grateful, but I made these because I’ve got a passion not only for making books, but for making reading (and writing) as fun as it can be.
And as a mother of 4 young children, trying to raise my kids in this economy where everything is wildly expensive… well I wanted to make something fun, useful, and free. I’ve got:
