Are your kids as obsessed with Minecraft as mine are? With the movie coming out next month, and me wanting to be a hype girl for my kinds passions I thought it would be find try my hands at making the best (as simplest) Minecraft cookies around, this one takes minutes to whip together, has only 5 ingredients, and is a great one to do with your kids.
Minecraft Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 white or yellow box cake mix
- 1/2 cup softened butter or oil
- 2 eggs
- 10 drops green food coloring
- Chocolate chunks
Instructions:

Mix It Up!
In a large bowl, combine the boxed cake mix, 1/2 cup softened butter (or oil), 2 eggs and 10ish drops of green food coloring, to pay homage to Minecraft’s iconic Creeper! -
Check Your Consistency
The batter will be thick, but that’s okay! If it seems too dense for your liking, feel free to add a bit more butter or oil. Just be mindful that doing so will make the cookies spread out more when baking. -
Spoon & Shape
Scoop out the batter onto a lined baking sheet. Use a spatula to gently flatten each glob of batter. If you want to get into the Minecraft spirit even more, you can shape them into rough squares. -
Bake Away!
Pop the baking sheet in and let those cookies bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until they are just starting to brown on the bottom edges. -
Creeper Face Time!
As soon as they come out of the oven, use the chocolate chunks to create a Creeper face. While the cookies are still warm, gently press the chocolate chunks into the top of each cookie. -
Cool & Enjoy
Let the cookies cool for a bit. If you want that authentic Minecraft block shape, you can trim off the rounded edges to give make them more square.
