Hey there, crafty pals! In today’s blog post, I have a delightful and educational craft that will surely bring a smile to your little one’s face. Say hello to the “Friends Forever” craft – a cute way to celebrate the letter F while learning about friendship. So, let’s grab our coloring supplies and paper, and dive right in!
Step 1:
Gather your materials Before we get started, make sure you have all the necessary supplies close at hand. We’ll be needing markers or crayons, and a sheet of paper. (and possibly the printout below if you don’t want to draw, cutout your own)
Step 2:
Fold it like a pro Now, let’s fold the paper into fourths accordion-style. Don’t worry; it’s easier than it sounds! Simply fold the paper back and forth, creating neat, parallel folds until you have four equal-sized panels.
Step 3:
Time to draw! On the front-facing panel, let your little artist’s imagination run wild! Draw a person on the folded paper. Make sure the person’s hands are right at the folds. This way, they’ll be holding hands with the other friends once we unfold it!
Step 4:
Snip, snip, but not too much! Carefully cut out the person, making sure to avoid cutting where the hands touch the folds. Our friends need to stay connected, after all!
Step 5:
The exciting reveal Now comes the fun part – unfold your paper masterpiece! Like magic, you’ll reveal four friends holding hands, ready to spread some friendship cheer!
Step 6:
Color and converse Sit with your little one and bring those friends to life with colors and laughs! While coloring together, take the opportunity to talk about friendship – what it means to be a true friend, the importance of kindness, and sharing stories of memorable friendships. You can even read a book about friendship as you color!
