Letter Y is for “Yorkshire Terrier” Fun Yorkshire Terrier Dog Facts:
- Tiny but Mighty: Yorkshire Terriers, or Yorkies, are small dogs, usually weighing around 5 to 7 pounds, but they have the hearts of giants and are known for their big personalities!
- Long Locks: Yorkies have luxurious, silky fur that can grow very long. Some people even tie their hair in adorable bows and clips!
- Originally Ratter: Yorkies were originally bred to catch rats in clothing mills and mines, so they have a natural instinct to chase small creatures!
- Loyal Friends: These little dogs make fantastic companions and are incredibly loyal to their families, often following them everywhere they go.
- Hearty Barkers: Yorkies may be small, but they have a loud bark. They often make excellent watchdogs, alerting their owners to visitors and unusual noises!
