Learning sight words is one of the biggest steps toward confident reading, and “not” is a word your child will see constantly as they begin reading simple books and sentences! These free printable “not” sight word worksheets help young learners practice reading, tracing, writing, and using not in fun, hands-on ways that make early literacy engaging and approachable.
Kids will encounter sentences like “Do not run,” “I am not tired,” or “That is not mine” very early on, so learning this small but powerful word gives them a major boost in comprehension and fluency.
As a mom of four (with one currently in 1st grade!), sight word practice is a big part of our daily reading routine. Creating these worksheets has become one of my favorite ways to keep practice fun, simple, and affordable, for my own kids and for teachers, homeschoolers, and parents everywhere.
These “Not” sight word printables are 100% free to download and ready for home or classroom use. Print as many as you need and feel welcome to share them with other educators!
