Welcome to Week 4. This is your low-prep, print-and-go Letter C plan. Each day includes a quick 5-minute mini lesson, one simple activity, and free printables that support it.
Best for: kindergarten centers, homeschool, preschool review, and busy parents who want a simple plan without a lot of prep.

Week at a Glance

Daily Mini Lessons + Printables
Day 1: Meet Letter C
Mini Lesson Script (5 minutes)
- Point to C and c. Say: “This is letter C. It can look like C or c, but it is the same letter.”
- Say: “C says /k/ like cat.” (Have kids repeat 2–3 times.)
- Show 3 picture examples: cat, car, cupcake, crab. Ask: “Do you hear /k/ at the start?”
Do This (2 minutes): Clap for C. Say simple words aloud and have students clap once if the word starts with /k/. Try: cat (clap), car (clap), sun (quiet), cupcake (clap).
Teacher Tip: Keep it short and playful.

Day 2: Write Letter C
Mini Lesson Script (5 minutes)
- Say: “Today we are going to write letter C the right way.”
- Uppercase C: “Start at the top, curve around, and stop before you close it.”
- Lowercase c: “Start in the middle, curve around, and stop.”
Do This (2 minutes): Rainbow Curve. Students air-draw a big C, then trace a curved C on the table with their finger while saying: “Curve around, then stop.”

Optional: If kids need extra fine motor practice, add a simple trace-and-color C page.
Day 3: Hear the /k/ Sound
Mini Lesson Script (5 minutes)
- Say: “Today we are listening for the sound /k/ at the beginning of words.”
- Say: “When you hear /k/, cup your hand behind your ear like a listener.”
- Try a few examples: cat (yes), crab (yes), car (yes), sun (no), dog (no), cupcake (yes).
Do This (2 minutes): Catch the C sound. Show picture cards and ask: “What is this? Say it slowly. Do you hear /k/ at the beginning?” Students can pretend to catch the sound with their hand if it starts with C.

Day 4: Centers + Review
By today, students have:

- Practiced writing C
- Heard the /k/ sound
Today is about strengthening and applying those skills independently.
Mini Lesson (2–3 minutes)
Say:
“This week we learned about the letter C.”
“Tell me the letter name. Tell me the sound.”
“Show me uppercase C in the air. Show me lowercase c in the air.”
“Can you make a big C with your arm?”
“Can you make a tiny c with your finger?”
Pick 2 centers and rotate.
Center Menu (choose 2)
- Center 1: Circle All the C’s
- Center 2: Dot Marker C
- Center 3: Themed Tracing Page
- Center 4: Write, Trace and Color
- Center 5: Sensory or craft extension

Why this matters: Letter C can look slightly different in different books and fonts. This activity helps build flexible letter recognition for future reading.

Mini Check (2–3 minutes)
- Point to C: “What letter?”
- “What sound?”
- Point to c: “What letter?”
- “Can you write C?”
Celebrate: print and read the mini book, then do a simple draw-and-tell or craft.

A simple foldable mini book with pictures for C words like cat, car, crab, and cupcake. Let kids color and fold it, then point out where they see the “C” on each page.
