Toddler Letters – “F” is for “Fire”

Letter F Craft - Toddler/Preshooler letter of the week craft F is for Fire with related craft, tracing sheets and fruits/vegetables.

Supplies Needed:

Black Craft Paper
Red “F” Cut Out
Colored Feathers, Preferably Red, Yellow, Orange and Black
Glue
White Crayon

Toddler/Preshooler letter of the week craft F is for Fire with related craft, tracing sheets and fruits/vegetables.

He was super proud of his letter… but he’s still working on the “Smile for the Camera” thing. 🙂

Set Up:

I cut out the letter “F” then covered it with glue and let my toddler take his time placing each of the colored feathers along his “F”. He did a great job and I think he really enjoyed getting to feel and play with something soft and textured like feathers. We did a couple of layers of glue as the feathers built up so we could have a more robust fire, but I don’t know that it was necessary.

After we finished I tried to talk to my little guy about what fire was and even lit a candle to show him how the light moved and how he could feel the heat from it, but it kind of freaked him out. Ha. So much for the safety lesson… I guess we’ll work our way up to real fire, for now, we’ve got a great letter “F”.

Toddler Letters – “E” is for “Easter Egg”

Letter E Craft - Toddler/Preshooler letter of the week craft E is for Easter Egg with related craft, tracing sheets and fruits/vegetables.

Supplies Needed:

Craft Paper
“E” cutout
Glue
Scissors
Tissue Paper
Stickers (If wanted, we didn’t end up using them)

Toddler/Preshooler letter of the week craft E is for Easter Egg with related craft, tracing sheets and fruits/vegetables.

Set Up:

I cut out the “E’s” and we glued them to our blue paper. Then we cut our tissue paper into little strips using ridged craft scissors. We covered the “E” with glue and glued our tissue paper to it. In hindsight this might have looked more like an Easter Egg if we had just used water colors and painted it. 🙂

When we finished we talked about how holidays are special days where we take time to do things we wouldn’t usually do, including coloring Easter Eggs at Easter time.

“D” is for “Donut” Letter Activity and Craft

Letter D Craft - Toddler/Preshooler letter craft D is for Donut with related craft, tracing sheets and fruits/vegetables.

Supplies Needed:

Craft Paper
“D” cut out
Glue
Colored Sprinkles

Set Up:

I cut out the “D” in advance, then we slathered glue over the top of it and I let my son go wild with sprinkling whatever color sprinkles he wanted on his “D”… I thought it would look a bit more like a sprinkled donut that it did in the end but we still had a lot of fun making it.

Letter B Craft - Toddler Preschooler letter of the week, letter B is for book, unique letter

Supplies Needed:

Letter “B” Cutout
Solid Color Craft Paper
White Paper
Glue
Crayons (Or something else to decorate with)

Toddler Preschooler letter of the week, letter B is for book, unique letter

Set Up:

I started by cutting out a letter “B” for each of the kids, then I took three plain white sheets of paper per person and cut them in the basic shape of the “B” without cutting out the two holes in the capitol letter “B”. Then I glued the white sheets of paper together along the “spine” of the “B” and finished by glueing my cutout to the top of my stack of white papers. When it dried I was able to fold up the pages and make the “B” into a book.

The toddlers took their time decorating each of the pages within the “B”, with older kids I’m sure that they could do the tracing/cutting/gluing themselves. 🙂

We finished our activity by having everyone bring their favorite book and reading them out loud together.
